Case: A university lecturer within an educational institute, required to teach chemistry to a classroom of 40 high school students. The subject content was extensive, demanding and required 4 2 hour classes held at three days within a week. The students were enrolled in an international curriculum yet require their intake to be within the Indian subcontinent’s educational system, for their 12th board exams to match the Indian 12th board exams & competitive examination dates. Thus, the regular syllabus that was held for an entire year, had to be delivered within three months due to the discrepancy within the board exam schedules offered by the 12th educational system of India & the international board.
Solution:A camera system was installed that enabled the possibility of recording & attendance to be managed via video, and enabled students & the instructor to upload the classes online for use by students. The recordings of the instruction were then used by the school and board planners, in order to determine and assist them in developing better schedules, classes, towards the 12th standard. The classes were also available for download and online attendance in hybrid mode, that provided any students on sick leave or those who were unable to attend the opportunity to attend, and learn online, or to view footage of missed classes.
Following the post pandemic (COVID-19) era individuals found themselves depending and utilizing technology with an increased dependence on tools, technology and solutions in order to be able to effectively provide & carry out even the most basic of tasks and work, & submissions.
This dependency & period, which was coupled by lockdowns, had resulted in educational institutes & work having to rely and port almost all & critical services & their provision to fully digital means, that provided many insights & exposed several deficiencies that required solutions.
